Arabian Sea Ports Corporation Discusses Joint Cooperation with World Food Programme Delegation

Engineer Salem Ali Basmer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arabian Sea Ports Corporation, welcomed today at the corporation’s headquarters Mr. Rashid Hamad, Acting Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) Office in Aden, along with Mr. Abdulrahman Basalama, the WFP Officer in Hadramout, and Ms. Asil Abdan Mohammed, Fuel Supply Officer in Aden.

The meeting discussed the ongoing cooperation and the facilities provided by the Mukalla Port for the World Food Programme in terms of receiving, unloading, and storing diesel fuel allocated for hospitals, vaccination storage facilities, and the Water and Sanitation Corporation, which are supported by UN agencies.

The meeting also covered discussions on the port’s capacities, potential for expansion, and development plans for equipment, machinery, and infrastructure. The future growth strategies include partnerships with the private sector and other ports.

The meeting was attended by Mr.Fwad Alrbaky, deputy of Chairman of YASPC, and Mr. Jalal Mohammed Ghaith, Director of the Chairman’s Office.
