Governor of Shabwa, Awadh Mohammed bin Al-Wazir, met Wednesday morning with Eng. Salem Ali Basamer, Chairman of the (YASPC), to discuss accelerating government procedures required to operationalize Qana Commercial Port.

The meeting, held at the Governor's office in Ataq, comes as part of the Chairman’s visit to the governorate aimed at strengthening partnerships and advancing maritime operations. Both parties underscored the strategic importance of Qana Port as a vital artery for the national economy. Governor Bin Al-Wazir emphasized the necessity of continued coordination to streamline maritime traffic and meet local market demands.

For his part, Eng. Basamer commended the efforts of Shabwa’s local leadership, affirming the Corporation’s readiness to provide technical and advisory support to upgrade port infrastructure and bolster its role in supporting the national economy.

The meeting was attended by Saleh Ali Bilal, Director General of Qana Commercial Port.
