The leadership of the Yemen Arabian Sea Ports Corporation, headed by Eng. Salem Ali Basamer, has formally commended the exceptional efforts of all individuals and teams involved in the successful operation to refloat the grounded vessel in Al-Mahrah. This includes the technical teams and workers from the Oil Company, under the supervision of Mr. Salem Ali Al-Suleimi, Director of the Nashtoon facilities at Yemen Oil Company, Al-Mahrah Branch, as well as the crew, captain, and first officer of the Gas Oil vessel (PEGASUS), the maritime agent Romsol, and Captain Salem Al-Ghrabi, the maritime pilot.
Eng. Basamer expressed his appreciation for the continuous work of the technical teams over the course of two full days, which involved connecting pipelines, overseeing the pumping process, and ensuring the safe docking of the vessel despite the challenges faced during the refloating operation.
The Chairman also extended his sincere gratitude to the local authorities in Al-Mahrah Governorate, led by Mr. Mohammed Ali Yaser, the Governor, and Eng. Mohsen Ali Belhaf, Director of the Oil Company Branch in Al-Mahrah, for their essential guidance, oversight, and coordination with the operational teams.
In conclusion, Eng. Basamer emphasized that the collective efforts in the rescue and refloating operation are crucial to the Al-Mahrah Governorate, as they ensure the continued functionality of Nashtoon Port, the region’s only seaport, vital for supplying the region with fuel and essential materials.
