As part of the Ministry of Transport's efforts to develop and enhance the capabilities of the maritime workforce and strengthen corporation work, Minister of Transport Dr. Abdul Salam Saleh Homid issued Ministerial Resolution No. (10) for 2024 today, establishing a Maritime Training Center at the Yemen Arabian Sea Ports Corporation, based on the proposal of the Acting Chairman and CEO of the corporation.

Article 1 of the resolution mandates the creation of the Maritime Training Center, while Articles 2 and 3 specify the center’s name as the "Maritime Training and Qualification Center," which will be financially and administratively under the Yemen Arabian Sea Ports Corporation, under the supervision of the Minister of Transport.

Articles 4 and 5 address the appointment of the center's director by the Minister of Transport and coordination between the corporation and the General Authority for Maritime Affairs in preparing training programs and accrediting certificates.

Article 6 outlines the center's objectives, including:

• Enhancing the skills of employees and workers at the corporation's headquarters and ports in Shabwah, Al-Mahrah, Socotra Archipelago, and the General Authority for Maritime Affairs branch in Mukalla through training courses and competency certification for captains, marine engineers, and other related administrative, financial, and technical roles.
• Conducting scientific and practical studies, and providing technical consultations for issues referred by the corporation or authority in the governorates.
• Exchanging expertise with maritime institutes and organizations specialized in ports and maritime transport.

Article 7 states that the resolution will take effect from the date of issuance, with relevant parties notified for implementation.
