YASPC Launches Awareness Program on Port Operations and Safety for Employees in Mukalla

Under the auspices of the Minister of Transport, Dr. Abdulsalam Saleh Humaid, and the Governor of Hadramout, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madhi, the Yemen Arabian Sea Ports Corporation (YASPC) launched a specialized training program titled "Fundamentals of Port Operations and Safety" on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

The program, supervised by YASPC Chairman Eng. Salem Ali Basamer and Mr. Fwad Alrbaky, deputy of Chairman of  YASPC, is currently being held at the Maritime Center’s training hall in the Port of Mukalla.

Comprehensive Curriculum and Professional Development

The five-day course targets 20 contracted employees from various departments. A similar session is scheduled in the coming weeks for a second cohort of staff members. The curriculum is delivered by a team of three specialized trainers:

  • Days 1-2: Mr. Marwan Mohammed Al-Yazeedi covers the corporation’s organizational structure and core operational activities.
  • Day 3: Mr. Ali Saeed Bahah leads a specialized session on occupational safety.
  • Days 4-5: Mr. Majed Salem Al-Quaiti concludes the program with modules on self-development and time management.

Strategic Investment in Human Capital

In his opening remarks, Eng. Salem Ali Basamer expressed his pride in launching the program, underscoring its vital role in enhancing the professional competency of the workforce. He noted that the initiative aims to provide employees with the necessary knowledge and skills to foster a culture of safety and excellence, ultimately improving overall performance and the working environment.

The Chairman also commended the efforts of Mr. Majed Salem Al-Quaiti, Director of the Maritime Center, for his role in identifying training needs, organizing specialized programs, and overseeing the technical and administrative logistics of the course.
