The Board of Directors of the Yemen Arabian Sea Ports Corporation convened a high-level meeting in Al-Mukalla to assess the corporation’s current performance and approve strategic measures aimed at enhancing administrative, financial, and technical operations.
Chaired by Engineer Salem Ali Basamer, the two-day session reviewed progress on previous decisions and addressed ongoing challenges facing the port authority. Key topics included the 2025 investment program and budget, procurement of a new marine tug, restructuring proposals, employee entitlements, and revisions to the corporation’s tariff and service fee structure.
The board concluded with a series of recommendations focused on elevating service quality, improving working conditions for staff, and strengthening the corporation’s operational capacity across its maritime facilities.
The meeting brought together senior representatives from the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Finance, regional authorities in Hadramout, Mahrah, Shabwah, and Socotra, as well as the Maritime Affairs Authority. Department heads from within the corporation also participated in shaping the outcomes.
